IBN: Pioneers in Guyana – Enabling the First Soy Harvest and Transforming Agricultural Frontiers

“It was a historic milestone when we introduced soybean cultivation on a large scale for the first time in Guyana, as a result of IBN’s tireless efforts. As the protagonist of this feat, we orchestrated a symphony of intermediation and lobbying that paved the way for the success of soybean planting in our nation…”  Suresh Ramkissoon (Jorge)

With IBN’s strategic vision, Guyana’s agricultural scenario has been transformed forever. It was as a result of our tireless intermediation and lobbying that the large-scale soybean planting culture flourished for the first time in this fertile land.

IBN, as the catalyst for this agricultural revolution in Guyana, brought the investor from Brazil into the scenario, identified the potential group of Guyanese entrepreneurs and brought the two parties together in a successful negotiation that resulted in an unprecedented joint venture partnership. It was a meticulous negotiation process, however, with diplomatic skill and negotiation expertise, we forged the agreements that gave rise to this revolutionary enterprise.

Since 2022, the seeds of success have been planted, and today we witness not only the growth of crops, but also the blossoming of a new era for Guyanese agriculture. We cannot forget that IBN, as a pioneer in this audacious venture, paved the way for five other major investors to follow in these steps.

Today, we are not only pioneers, but also inspiring – paving the way for five other major investors, starting planting – we can proudly say that we were the first to bring soybean cultivation to this fertile land. Our legacy is being built with each harvest, and it is with gratitude that we look back, remembering that we were the trailblazers who paved the way for soybean success in Guyana.
