Guyanese presidential delegation visits soybean farm in Berbice

On September 25th, the Honorable President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana was scheduled to visit a soybean farm located in Tacama, in the region of Berbice, Guyana. However, due to urgent commitments, the President was unable to attend and sent high-ranking representatives in his place, including the Honorable Minister of Agriculture, the Honorable Minister of Finance and the President of the Islamic Development Bank.

This visit proved to be extremely enlightening for the delegation and resulted in productive discussions. During the meeting, the Honorable President’s commitment to carrying out a future visit to the farm was highlighted.

The rapid evolution of businesses related to the cultivation and development of soybeans has been remarkable, and the Government has vigorously supported the agricultural sector, with a special focus on the cultivation of soybeans and corn in Guyana. This initiative demonstrates the commitment to boost the country’s economic growth and the sustainable development of agriculture.
